National Director of Mutual Fund Sales
Client Portfolio Team
As to our personality, I’d say we’re humble. It’s very much unlike Wall Street, where I worked for 35 years. People were trying to take you out at the knees. Here it’s all about working together, driving toward a common goal.
The tone we get from Nancy, it’s kind of a twofold thing. There’s a confidence in our ability to build a business in similar terms to how we invest for our customers. Internally, there’s very little employee turnover, which is spectacular.
I’m not necessarily a wordsmith. But Lisa and her team can take my words and shape them. In no time, I’ve got an elegant, succinct, and well thought out presentation for marketing. There’s a right way and there is a Zevenbergen way. And it’s really impressive that everything a client
I grew up in the south, outside of Atlanta. My parents were very strict southerners; it was always ‘yes ma’am, no ma’am.’ Treat others the way you’d like to be treated. My father’s thing was, ‘not every day is easy, but the whole thing is going to be great.’

We do well with people who are headstrong, who are thinkers, who want their clients to have something more than middle-of-the-road opportunities. We are about actively managed, concentrated, high-growth portfolios—quite different from the majority of strategies out there.
Nancy has always tried to make this about her employees. To really drive home the long-term sustainability of the business. That’s a rare thing these days. To have the person who is on the masthead, whose name is on the door, to constantly bring people in, spend the time and the effort to drive them all the way up through the organization. Few have that kind of long-term thinking anymore.
Outside of work, I’m involved in Crossfit; I do that once a day. I play a little golf; I’m not as good as I used to be. We have a house on Cape Cod, in Chatham, MA. We have a boat, I like to fish.
I can make connections with people. Relationships are important in my work because there are days when the stock market goes whoop de doo. We have volatility. And you just want to be there.
